Can you believe it’s June? How are you doing meeting your objectives for 2025? Are you near, have you passed them, or do you have a long way to go?
Do you have all the client work you want or do you need help heading into summer? It’s perfectly okay to revise if you were more ambitious in your planning than you should have been.
If you still have a ways to go, and you think it is still achievable, what tools are going to help you get there?
Here are some resources that might help you finish the year reaching your objectives.
1. Podcasts
Podcasts are everywhere these days. They specialize by topic and there are some that rely on guests to share all the content, and those that use their podcast instead of a newsletter. I could read this aloud, record it, and call it a podcast. I think they are reminiscent of talk radio, and as such, they are a tool to help you broadcast your message to a larger, unexplored audience.
This year I subscribed to a cool platform where podcast hosts and guests can meet each other and decide if it’s a match. So far, I have had really good experiences. It gets easier with each interview I complete. I have become more discerning in choosing where I will appear and look forward to guesting more. My goal is to book one or two per month, but it is possible to do far more than that if you’d like.
Overall, I think the categories you choose as tags remarkably match well with some outstanding people who are great hosts. Here is my favorite performance so far, focusing on nonprofit marketing on the Nonprofit MBA with Stephen Halasnik. Most conversations are around 30 minutes, some shorter, and I have felt we covered a lot of ground. They have varying levels of viewership, but I can use the content as much as they can.

2. Reuse Your Video
If you are posting reels on a regular basis, make sure you are leveraging them as best you can. I just listened to an interview with Neil Patel, a digital marketing and entrepreneurship guru, who said we should produce less content and spend more time promoting our good content. If you have some good and some great content, find places for it to work for you.
I hate to see my Instagram reels slip into oblivion after their Tuesday premieres as Taco ‘Bout Tuesday topics. To make them more discoverable, I upload them to my YouTube channel as short videos. It’s been fun to experiment on headlines and see what garners good results. So far, mostly using the words “HOW TO” at the beginning of the title helps, but not every topic introduced with HOW TO has attracted many views. There are many variables on the backend to help optimize how many people will see it. I’ve learned some things that have definitely helped. I have a long way to go to have a monetized channel, but at least I can find a clip fairly quickly and share it out when I want.
Look at the view numbers in this screen shot. I will point out that on YouTube the video that shows on the very left side of this line-up is from last Tuesday. YouTube is showing 846 views. The same video on Instagram had 96 views, per the analytics. A gained a few followers on Instagram, which is the call to action (CTA).

Note: The tech for loading SHORTS does not allow you to choose a cute thumbnail for a cover, so YouTube randomly chooses a slide and I am left with what you see here. These aren’t that bad compared to all to them in the whole sample, I must say. It reminds me a bit of the opening credits of Gidget.
Also note that YouTube experts suggest using long-form video instead of these snippets to gain subscribers to your channel and more likes. This is why most podcasters are also recording their guests on camera and loading them to their own YouTube channels, in addition to Apple, Spotify, and other podcast sources.

4. Warm Calls
It’s practical, basic, and effective! If you are really in need of more work, call your past clients. Ask them for work and referrals, as well as how to help them. Refer them too, networking is not a one-way street. Reaching out to those who already know your abilities is a tried and true tactic that gains you revenue, and strengthens your network.
Look at your data and improve what you have before you create new things. Warm calls convert 20-30% of the time compare to 1-3% of cold calls. You ya gonna call?
