I had the pleasure of interviewing Rob Webb, longtime professional fundraiser and founder of Nonprofit Campaigns, LLC about nonprofit fundraising. We had a very insightful conversation about the realities of fundraising. Watch this vlog episode to learn how you can raise money more effectively, and the advantage of creating relationships.

Most fundraising novices (volunteers and professionals) first learn to follow a formula of asking and thanking all their donors multiple times. They have a false sense of assurance that they will reach the optimum giving. In addition, they throw an event or two to attract some corporate donors to round out the budget. This will bring you results, but you could do better. If you consider the word GALA as a four-letter word, then you’ll especially like what Rob has to share.

We also spend a little time discussing the role of foundations. Should we expect them to invest in the same organizations year after year? Should foundations expect the charities that align with their mission to find other funding sources? Start watching now to hear Rob’s insight on that.
